One hundred Houston-area children in need, many of whom share a bed or whose families face serious hardships, now have clean, new beds to call their own, thanks to Ashley's Hope to Dream program and the Houston Rockets.

Toyota Center was transformed into a showcase of 100, fresh new beds complete with blankets and pillows, giving these deserving children a good night’s sleep in a bed to call their own.

“Tonight is about giving these special children a chance to hope and of course a chance to dream,” says Brittany Graham, community specialist for Ashley.

Deliveries of the beds will begin immediately.

Kids also enjoyed visiting with Houston Rockets Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy, locker room tours and a complimentary book to take home from Books Between Kids.

Each of the deserving children, ages 3-16, was selected for a new bed based on applications submitted to Ashley's Hope to Dream program. School social workers, case managers, clergy and charitable organizations nominated the children.

Ashley donates a portion of every mattress sold to Hope to Dream, providing children in need with a new twin mattress, bedframe, bedding and pillow.

A national initiative, Hope to Dream has given the gift of sleep to more than 80,000 children since the program’s inception in 2010.
